Since when does ‘steampunk’ mean ‘made out of lots of random cogs and mechanical parts glued together’? The cogs and shit on steampunk items are usually functional. The implication is that everything is made by hand, and though cumbersome, shit doesn’t go to waste like we see in these pictures. All those pieces would be used for more useful things than imitating a piece of armor in the hands of a real steampunk mechanic.
